Classroom Loves Linky

With Valentine's Day just days away love is in the air!  I am linking up with Primary Powers to talk about some thing we love as teachers, students, and a class!  Click the link below to visit Primary Powers.

Primary Powers

I don't know how I ever taught guided reading without Reading A-Z!! I am in love with how perfect the levels are for my kids. Their website also makes it so perfect to search for certain skills so everything is connected within your curriculum.  The days of getting close enough with the guided reading books are over!  The only downfall is the amount of paper that is used - - I just grit my teeth and bare it.

There are some days when we have to squeeze in an extra assembly or have a guest speaker and the easiest time to give up is our Daily Five time - - oh the groans!!  My kids absolutely LOVE this time and truly I do too.
If you haven't heard of GoNoodle then it's safe to say you are living under a rock!  This is the best website to get the kids up and moving and is especially perfect for inside recess!  The developers really have teachers in mind and have lots of fluffy fun brain breaks but also have educational options as well.  The kids love to be able to get up, move, and relax their brains.  I love getting to see their individual personalities shine!  There are so many times in the day when I feel we are just going through the motions and getting through the material that we don't always give one another the time or attention we deserve.  GoNoodle moments are perfect to let all that stress go and just MOVE!

Head to Primary Powers if you would like to link up!

  1. I have been reading up on the Daily 5, but haven't started it in my classroom yet! It's good to know that your kids enjoy it. I will probably start using it next year so hopefully my kids will like it too! :)

    1. I really believe it all boils down to choice! The kids are in control and that is really empowering for them. When every option works for me we both win! If you do traditional centers now you will never be able to go back after D5!

  2. I LOVE all three of your choices! I switched the D5 a few years ago and I can't believe I ever did Centers! My sanity has returned! GoNoodle rocks and so does RAZ kids!

    1. Thanks for taking time to visit! I couldn't imagine creating and preparing all the items that would be necessary to run centers - and the storage!!!! I would go nuts trying to keep it all organized. We had a bit of snow today, 18 degrees, and the Valentine's Day party ---- needless to say GoNoodle saved the day again!

  4. I haven't tried using Reading A-Z, but my school division purchased RazKids for our grade 1-3 classrooms and we are loving it. My English language learners are growing in their reading faster than ever with it :) My class also loves our centre time and are sad when they miss it. GoNoodle is a class favourite too. I even have a "pick a brain break" as a reward coupon that students can choose and it's been very popular this year with GoNoodle.
